Difference between a blog and Facebook

There are many questions that will start to arise concerning a blogspot and Facebook. But concerning these two sites, many people will say "aren't the sites are supposedly the same thing?" But I beg to differ that they both are completely different, here are a few reasons why...

1. Facebook is not as private

For anyone who has Facebook account, you will need to put your information out in the open of the internet. You will need to have a profile picture, put your date of birth and more personal information out there for all to see than to just have a personal page. All than Facebook do have a privacy settings and changed over the years, just knowing you have an active page for people to search you is quite a little disturbing and frustrating. For a blogspot, it is more private. Sources say that you can have a "private blogspot". From lifehacker.com, it have different blogspot sources that will give that you can have a "private" blog.

Please see click here for lifehacker website article.

For blogspot, if there is a picture option, there are avatar pictures you can set than to set than to have your own personal picture on there. Plus you can also create nicknames.

2. Facebook posts that you comment on can be shown than blogs

Every heard of the saying "be careful what you put on the internet", that is true! On Facebook, everything that you comment on is being shown no matter what. Even if it could be a private Facebook group, it still can be shown if you type your name in any search engine. With blogs, you don't have to worry about that. You can voice your opinion on any blog and it won't be shown (as long as it is private). But please let me remind you to mind your manners on the internet, because it is the right thing to do. 🙂

3. Blogs are nothing but articles

Before you continue on this blog, I had to let you know this is all about articles, more like a personalized journal. On Facebook, it is nothing but posts such as videos, pictures and links that people share and comment on. A blog is nothing but articles that people like to talk about, I will call it more of a conversation with coffee and tea.

4. Blogs are not as popular as present day

Before Facebook, blogs were very popular as of a "social" website, but now you will see very few to be popular. Since now Facebook is more popular, blogs are out of the spotlight. If you want something that wants to be seen and create a conversation, go on Facebook. If you want something that is private and only want a few individuals to see, create a blog.

I hope this article will give you a difference between Facebook and a blog.
